The Year of the Water Tiger brings a lot of powerful change, and every home will feel this energy. We can't have a complete yang home or a complete yin home, so we turn to Feng Shui to create harmony and balance.
As I mentioned in my previous post, there are calmer or "yin" rooms like the bathroom, bedroom and dining room. And then some rooms lend towards activity, i.e. 'yang' rooms.
The Family room is definitely a "yang" space because it's a dynamic room for family interaction. There is typically a lot of activity in this space, and it tends to be a gathering place within the home. The soft textures of big, comfy couches can bring balance to the place.
Not only do we want to have balance and harmony in the home, but we also want to create health.
In Feng Shui, one of the ways we restore health is by using the water element. So the bathroom becomes a very important room in the home (especially after being in a very "yang" family room or kitchen).
Make your bathroom more "yin" to be a place to relax in – like a spa – so you have a place to bring balance to the energy in your home from having been bold and courageous and "go, go, go!" all day. Imagine taking a nice luxurious bath or a warm shower to relax sore muscles. Doesn't that sound wonderful? Now, all we need is for your bathroom to be designed to look like your perfect spa.
